The Work of Creating Peace

By March 10, 2016 May 9th, 2016 Yoga

It can be easy to more singularly associate peace with grace and leave out the often times awkward and actual hard work it takes to move in this lightening way. It is true that deep inside each and every person there is an inner sanctum where true peace resides. This place is still and calm, free from worry, fear, expectation, attachment, regret, pride, and ego… However, getting to this natural state of ease is anything but easy. Authentic Yoga systematically teaches us the process of moving toward the peace within ourselves by stripping away those layers of fear, expectation, attachment, etc. that accumulate around this sacred place within. We all have this place where peace resides within, but it gets buried and hidden under the accumulation of stuff that layers over the authentic Self. To connect with this peace does not mean that there is no trouble/challenge or that life is all sunshine and rainbows. It means that despite our challenges, we can apply a disciplined practice to strip away those things that obstruct the essential state of peace that is more reflective of your true nature.
