Balance is not only essential for happiness and well-being; in the long run it actually increases productivity and success. Authentic Yoga teaches us about seeking balance – sensing just how far to move in any one direction physically or mentally. We begin within the confines of our comfort zone and slowly increase movement. If you go too far, you go past your edge where there is only risk without the possibility of growth. But if you don’t go far enough there is no change. You see, skill in yoga has very little to do with your degree of flexibility/strength/depth but rather it is a skill of sensing and navigating your edges – no matter where they are – always seeking balance in mind, body, and life.
